About Smartplugs....

While working in Northern California on a renewable energy and alternative transportation event called SEER ( Solar Energy Expo & Rally ) I received a packet from my brother in San Diego which contained an SAE report on fuel ignition with a catalytic plasma torch called the "Smartplug".

Inventor Mark Cherry, and his innovation, the "SmartPlug" is an 100% guaranteed working advanced ignition system that can utilize up to 50% water in a fuel mixture for an internal combustion engine. Mark wrote to me back in 1996, " ..... find a hydrocarbon and we can generate more hydrogen on demand than any electrolysis method and more energy is available after conversion to hydrogen than is available in the original fuel."

I will continue to add information on this subject here, and if you would like to know more directly about the Smartplug, Visit their web site: www.smartplugs.com.

Editor's Note: At the time, a few members of our group were studying the amazing claims of Stan Meyers and his Water Fuel Cell. If your not familiar with Stan's work, I will give you a basic explanation. He claimed that water has a molecular fracturing resonant frequency which would break the bonds between hydrogen and oxygen using a properly tuned ignition system. Stan also claimed that this process would allow water to be used as a fuel as itself. This, of course, was a highly controversial claim which led to speculation that Stan was bilking investments based upon fraudulent claims. There were some who continued to pursue the works of Stan Meyers, and also believed that if a properly tuned device could weaken the bond between hydrogen and oxygen in water, the possibilities of water as a fuel source ( hydrogen ) would solve many energy storage and use problems. Unfortunately, Stan passed away a few years ago and the truth behind the water fuel cell has not been uncovered

The key to the Smartplug is what many have been experiencing when experimenting with platinum, palladium, and nickel. Excerpt from Mark Cherry's Patent No# 5,109,817 Smartplugs Patent " ... fabricated of a noble metal having catalytic properties such as Platinum, Palladium or Rhodium. These catalysts speed up and enhance the chemical oxidation process of burning the fuel-air mixture without consuming themselves, which ensures a long igniter life. However, the use of such noble metal for the heater does not preclude the use of less expensive materials such as nickel chrome wire and the like, when requirements permit."

Experiments with these metals have produced the current hydrogen fuel cell revolution, the environmentally friendly nickel metal hydride rechargeable battery market, and the highly controversial experiments of what Dr. Nelson Camus calls, "Trapped Neutron Catalytic Fusion" more commonly called "Cold Fusion".
As for what really is the dynamics and the theory behind what is occurring with these metals and their reaction with water in an electrolytic is under despute, but the fact remains that devices such as the " Smartplug " do exist, and they work.
