hopper2 Tom just arrived when I took this picture. The Hopper was one of the latest enrties for the Tour de Sol. After getting the O.K. from event director Nancy Hazard, Tom proceeded to pin-stripe the Hopper for some last minute detailing in the afternoon.
mech1 This three wheeled electric vehicle is one of the best cars of the show! A group of ev vehicle enthusiasts consisting of friends and family from Lafayette Hill, PA. built this vehicle. It is based on a Lomax kit car, and weights approx. 1750 lbs. It has a fiberglass body and a steel frame. Both the AC motor and controller are Solectria products, and there are 16 Electrosource 12 volt batteries. The team came in 4th place with a overall score of 610 points, a best range of 54 miles, and a fuel economy index of 111 miles per gallon!
