The America Tour de Sol has been to many cites in the northeastern United States. Vehicles rally from checkpoint to checkpoint, being scored on their efficiency and time. Emissions and virutual emmissions are tallied in the end results to reflect real-world energy consumption and clean-air statistics. |

Colleges, Universities, High Schools and even individuals join in the exhibition of converted and custom vehicles. |

Educational materials are on display to explain each vehciles special qualities as a unique form of transportation. |

Teams of students work together to participate in the Tour de Sol with their vehicle. Some schools have attended the event for mote than ten years. |

Sponsors help the teams afford the expense of creating the vehicles, as well as participating in the Tour de Sol and it's week long exhibition. |

The #3 "L3 Enigma" is a purpose-built convertable with a biodiesel ICE and lead-acid (PbA) batteries. It was built by L3 Research and San Diego State University in San Diego, CA. |
